Croatia and the people of the Balkins are truely amazing people. They have gone through many, many wars. There is a great deal learn about the history of the country and the people. The people are extremely resilient. We booked our tour through Abercrombie & Kent. The accomodations were nice, the guide was very friendly, but it did not seem to be as organized as other tours that we have taken. For what A&K charges, there are so many other tour operators that can conduct this tour for a fraction of the cost. We first arrive in Zagreb, only to notice that there is a great deal of grafitti on walls everywhere. It may seem to be a bit unsafe, but if staying in the city center area it is safe with many restaurants & coffee shops. From Zagreb we drove down the coast till we finally reached Split. Split is a very nice townwith many shops and restaurants to visit. Our hotel was located outside of the city center so it was a bit of a walk, but good if you were looking for some exercise. Off to Dubrovnik, a medival town that was preserved from WWII and all the many wars that occured afterwards. Is a port city so many of the cruise ships stop here for a day or two. When the ships come in the city of Dubrovnik the town can get quite busy. Many shops, restaurants & architechture to look at.
